ASQ Center/Ivory Tusk

Project Description:
The project consists of the renovation of the former downtown Marshall Field’s Building. The one city block building is a combination of five different buildings structures constructed in the early 1900s with the oldest structure dating back to 1890. The original structure was located along the center of Plankton Avenue, was demolished for a new center court circular drive and a new two-story addition to reconnect the skywalk system.
The new uses of this facility consist of a 131-room Marriott Residence Inn on the upper four floors of the North building, ASQ occupies the South building, and a mixture of offices, a bookstore, and a bank are the in the remaining area. The basement level as renovated into a below grade parking lot for approximately 140 cars.
Renovation of the base building consists of asbestos abatement, demolition major structural components, interior selective demolition, a new center court drive structure and two-story addition, steel pile foundation work, new aluminum windows, restoration of the exterior terra-cotta, new elevators, new stair shafts, new roofing, new basement building common areas, and all mew mechanical and electrical systems.
